Tenniswood is better known as one half of the electronic act Two Lone Swordsmen alongside Andrew Weatherall. Outside of the group he is more frequently known as Radioactive Man, and runs the Control Tower electro label. Tenniswood has also worked with artists such as David Holmes on his album Let’s Get Killed, The Aloof and Red Snapper. Radioactive Man is one of relatively few solid Electro producers whose work is always reliably genius. He sometimes ventures towards the drum ‘n’ bass or techno side of things with his work, but he always keeps the sounds original and distinctive.

Justin Robertson
Derek kindled his love for music as a washboard player in the 1950s and has played popular sets at many major festivals, including Glastonbury and The Big Chill. He MCs in Jamaican Patois while DJing, despite never having visited Jamaica. He picked up the accent from a Bristol based Jamaican barber, and it has since helped him be accepted in the black music industry. In 2006, He released the album DJ Derek Presents Sweet Memory Sounds, a compilation of some of his favourite tunes. In addition to having an encyclopaedic appreciation of the above music, DJ Derek is a notable fan of real ale and is also renowned for having visited every single Wetherspoons pub in the UK. Jaymo & Andy George – FROM RADIO 1
Q Club, Reading, 10pm-LATE. £5. www.wegottickets.com
Their performances have won them an army of fans, most notably in the form of super-producer Kissy Sell Out – who nominated them as his favourite new DJs as part of the BBC Introducing Tour 2008. In April, Jaymo & Andy became two of the youngest people to ever record a live Essential Mix for Radio 1 – quickly catching the attention of the stations bosses. Fast forward four months and the duo have their very own show on Radio 1, and prepare to take their sound global! Crafted with the sole intention of fronting the worlds coolest music, the show promises to be as fun and unpredictable as their rumbustious DJ sets! As producers Jaymo & Andy have been responsible for some massive dance-floor bombs! Andys Big Dipper was one of 2008s most popular jump-up Electro tracks, prompting a flurry of remixes for scene-leaders Lord Skywave, Toddla T & Jokers Of The Scene. Jaymo, however, first came to the attention of the music world with his Hip Hop infused Tuned In Live. With support from DJ Touche, Boy 8 Bit & Crookers he quickly found himself delivering remixes for the likes of Skint & Data, whilst notching up worldwide compilation appearances. With countless gigs at the worlds coolest clubs and an ever-growing discography of heavy-duty club tracks, its hard to predict where these boys will be in another 2 years!

Whatever you may think, we are going to take this HUGE venue over and have a damn good after party.
We have Jaymo & Andy George in the main room with other fun shenanigans, but we shall also have a very special 200 capacity room on the side, where all the acts from that day will be djing, expect the norm from IbetYa & Jac Bon Cochon of Mr Blind Pig, and a whole heap of more fun.

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip return to Reading. Since the bands last performance in their home town, they have gone from strength to strength. After massive global success with their single ‘Thou Shalt Always Kill’ off debut album ‘Angles’ the band toured playing the globe. Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip are a hip-hop duo, combining electronic beats with spoken word lyrics. Their first single was “Thou Shalt Always Kill”. Signed with the Sunday Best record label, dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip released their debut album in 2008. Titled Angles, it reached 31 in the UK album chart. They released their second album entitled The Logic of Chance on 15 March 2010 on the Sunday Best label to a sell out UK tour, the album has since gone on to huge critical acclaim. A Stellar line up supports this fine act, with hot buzz band of the moment MIDIMIDIS. MIDIMIDIS have had an amazing last year, featuring in many of the UK leading music press, the industry are falling over to sign them, after a short hiatus from Reading, they bring their 8 Bit MIDI sounds to the town for one last time this year. 3 times DMC champions, and local Readinger’s The Disablists bring their set which made them 3 times DMC champions in the first place – this is a RARE treat for the town. Oxford’s 100 Bullets Back head South from the university town to kick off proceedings.

Altogether, Snowboy has had 20 singles and 15 albums released on various labels, and has just finished writing a music history book ‘From Jazz Funk And Fusion To Acid Jazz – The History Of The UK Jazz Dance Scene’, which will appear in late-February 2009 by the publishing house ‘Straight No Chaser’. He is now also a staff writer for ‘Blues And Soul’ magazine (www.bluesandsoul.com) where he has his own column and reviews Jazz and Funk music.

He is without doubt, the country’s best known Latin percussionist and his band is probably Europe’s most travelled Latin Jazz act. He sees himself in the future as recording as many albums and playing live as much as he can to continue to spread his brand of furious, hardcore Afro Cuban Jazz around the furthest reaches of the planet, and as the unofficial ambassador for the U.K’s Jazz Dance scene!!

A New venue has cropped onto the horizon in Camden town, and it looks like the place to be….

Running along the same lines as The Old Blue Last, The Old Queens Head, The Flowerpot, The Lock Tavern etc etc, this is a boozer which has upped the anti from the usual spit and sawdust experiance. As well as some of the finest ales, food and other beverages on the market, and with quite a funky interior( lamp shades made from biros, slinkys( YES SLINKYS) and other strange goings on, the pub is also host to soem of the top DJs around. ITs not a club, its just a pub, so you can dance where you are, or shimmy in ya seats, whilst you hear some of the best names in a more relaxed setting, they will probably not play their banging sets heard to thousands in clubs, but pull out their personal faves, their guilty pleasures, and have a good few jars to get them in the mood….. here’s whats coming up in August:

6th August
THE DISABLISTS
3 x times world DMC champions, well they can;t be ‘alf bad can they?! These guys bring you a rare treat as they pull the technics apart and back to gether in a specia lone off night ( they haven’t played London for AGES!), check them mix some smooth soul with beats, and bleeps, and hip hop and reggae, and this and that…don;t blink else you will mix the song, these chaps don’t hang around, with an hour of their set encompassing around 100 songs! shizer!

7th August
ZOE ANN
This lass knows how to get you up and at em, she gets ya party right in full swing, with a bit of everything to get ya on ya feet!

12th August
WE ALL LIVE & die
MY TIGER MY TIGER(dj set) vs PORTASOUND(dj set)
2 of the coolest, biggest breakng acts on the scene, come and show you what they can do, on the ones and 2s. So what the devil do they listen to? We have heard their music, and what they write, but what makes them shake their asses!, Notorious party starters WE ALL LIVE & DIE, host these marvelous fight off

13th August
THE BEAT GOES ON
GEORGE & OLLY
George is a dj for Ibiza Rocks( cool) and Olly is a JEDI knight( fuck, wow!). Job done. Party On.

14th August
KICK OUT THE CHAIRS
PETE WHEELER
Pete Wheeler is back, we have dragged him over from his usual base in KOKO with Buttoned Down Disco, and we hailed him a cab from glastonbury, as the festie goers wouldn’t let him leave until he played that song…”what song?”…THAT SONG..”oh”.

20th August
RONNKIE POP DJS
Ronnie Joyce
Simon Walsh
Ronnie! Where for art though Ronnie. The kid is back in town, after a short hiatus after his long running spell at Camden hot spot The Flowerpot, we drag him back behind the wheels of steel!..has he got his pink fluffy case…eh, I dunno…has he got his guilty pleasures….yup yup yup. Supportig him, is funk warrior Simon Walsh. He is a funk warrior. And thats all you need to know.

21st August
SPACE STORMS
Indie and proper old school rock from these chaps. Get you rocking on ya air guitar till the birds come up. Unfortunately, if you do, we would have kicked you out before th birds actually come up, so you will have to carry on that party somewhere else. But until we shut, the place ie yours, help yourslef man!

22nd August
SPECIAL!!!
SNOWBOY( dj set)
Yes. How cool. Snowboy, from Snowboy & The Latin Section is down in town, very excited about this one, the master of latin jazz, swoons us un this summer sunday evening with a bag of old tricks. Yum-MY.

26th August
Outside:Inside Afterparty
The biys from the Reading festival, drag their weary asses up to the Lyttelton, with a bag full of all their festival friends. Now, this could be some of the amazing line up they have just had playing at the Oi Fest 2010 but it could also just be randoms that they have ONLY just met at Oi fest 2010. Anyhow, I’m sure they will have a lorra fun.

27th August
ANDY SMITH!!
ANDY SMITH!! yes. ANDY SMITH!!!…YES. The man from Brizzle, with the biggest box of vinyl EVER. Comes to town, to begin what looks to be one of the phattest residencies in LDN. So phat, that I just used the word phat. (which is normally a tad…errmm, gay?)

28th August
DELI BEATZ
The chappies and chappettes from Norfolk (3 eyes, 10 hands, sleep with their siblings..etc etc) RETURN! for their monthly feast!…Now I use feast in a food orientated way, to insinuate Deli. But deli does not mean that in deli beats. It means delinquent. Which is also a factor in growing up in fen land unfortunately. Come down, support the youth of tomorrow, they are only out on day release, so catch em before they lock em back up!!
